Добавлен 20 фев 2015
Hi, Dave here and welcome to my channel where you will get to meet lots of my little beasties
All my life I've had a keen interest in Tarantula's, Scorpions, Centipedes, true spiders and Bugs in general.
I've been keeping most of my life and hope to share the way I care for my collection and what works for me. Husbandry and breeding are at the forefront of my passion these days, Arboreal spiders and enclosure design I find fascinating, I love a naturalistic look for my enclosures.
I hope to show an alternative way of keeping, handling, and maintaining these wonderful creatures and answer some of the commonly asked questions.
So let's go on a journey together and share the amazing world of tarantula keeping. remember:
Be calm and gentle, take your time and love your spiders

I just love camera lady. She is so fun. And her teasing you is wonderful 😊
That's first time I've seen a spider having poo
We have a huge spider living in our gas meter box. She's massive. Jet black in colour and around 7 - 8 cm. She's made plenty of web in there.
Only Fangs
What a gorgeous spider! Do you have any updates on this one?
Great bloke explain things so well
Dear Dave, I could have a spiderling of Grammostola pulchra for 60 to 65 £ , it's about 1cm small..Is that price ok for one of these? Thanks.
Have you ever had a spider take off on you and get lost? If so how long?
Teleport spiders and a mischievous Camera Lady - makes for quality content!
They look and act very much like the huntsman spiders super fast spiders Great video guys 😊👍🏻
Thanks you 👍
Camera lady was feeling spicy today 😂
Ah, yes. the blue fanged tarantular. XD
I know this is an older video but I had a quick question. I have a C. Darlingi. "She" is 3.5-4" and she has not molted in over a year. The T is 2.5- 3 years old. I'm assuming it's a female. Is it normal for their growth to slow so much at this stage?
Many factors play a role here heating , food, humidity ? you can always try a rehouse or warm her up this will often promote a moult 👍
those aren't parasitic mites, parasitic mites would attach themselves on the sides of the centipede and feed on it, those look like some soil/grain mites that are using the centipede for transport
Parasitc mites are there to feed on the mites not the centipede ?
My eyes are getting older and a bit worn out, hence needing glasses to read, all this to say i thought you saying they teleport was obviously a joke, yet according to my eyes thats exactly what happened. It was on the lid, then table, then edge of table. At no point did I register movement!!
😂😂😂They are very quick when they want to be 😂
The male L fallax looks like if you could customize your spider
Ello Dave and Camera lady!! I passed out last night watching the video in my chair was so exhausted I am still very exhausted because I went to lay down around 6am hoping to atleast grab an hour or 2 of sleep I lay down and almost instantly felt like I cud pass out having been so tired but then I feel something crawling on my shoulder I reach my arm around to feel and wipe it off of course and it felt huge I jumped out of my bed to see a fuckin 2" male dubia roach oh my fuckin god man so creeped out it must have gotten away from one of my beardies or some how hot out of the small container I use to put in bugs that I take out of their colony to feed off idk but my p.Irminia thank God she tore him up for me I was so creeped out mannnnn
👍😂😂😂😂😂
Tiland black. Assholes. X
Thanks for the video. Can these climb the inside of the bath? Asking for a friend 😂
They can climb most things 😂
Loved the video Dave this was really helpful in sorting way for me to heat some of my Ts as well as inverts! I wanted to ask i have some shelving I want to put my tarantulas in, could I use the heat cable and wrap it on the underside of one shelf so the heat comes from above and warms the area below it if that makes sense?
Ive not tried it from above but I would think it could work so long as the heat doesn't disperse too quickly ?
Dave, you are the Cesar Millan of Spiders. As Always, I learned a lot from you. Thank you.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Dave.
"What's not to love about these spiders." - their SPEED!!! 😄😁😆
Hi Dave and hi camera lady
Wow!! Amazed how fast these spiders are!!! You and camera lady crack me up!!!!❤
Glad you enjoyed ❤️
Very beautiful tarantula i have 3 of this kind i have alot of different brachaplemas and Mexican red knee, flame knee, red rump , fire leg and so on . My regal jumping spider just had babies when do u start to house them separately i already took mom out and into another enclosure
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
You truly are a "master of the spiders". Calm, composed, gentle. Love watching your videos.
Wow, thank you!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't see the blue on my screen it looks black to me
Apologies for the ignorant question but I'm going to ask anyway. Why does the size of the enclosure matter? Why can't you put a spider into a too large container? Thank you, always, for sharing your love of spiders. Thank you, Camera Lady for always keeping Dave on his toes 😊
Some spiders dont do well in large containers feeding is often a problem so we grow them on in smaller enclosures to ensure they grow well, they dont need a huge amount of space to thrive ❤️👍
Usually, keeping the spider in an enclosure that is too large will make it very difficult for them to find/capture their food when it is dropped in. Also, very large containers will mean you will rarely get to see the specimen it contains because they will have so much space to hide out of view.
Great video 👏
Thank you! 🙏
Was it just me or did that second spider (the runner) have a leg missing?
Saw that too. It did look like it was missing a leg, to me at least.
Yes it did lost in a moult 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties I thought I was miscounting 😂 I even rewound the video to see if I’d missed you mentioning it 🤦🏼♀️🤣
You have been the reason my feelings about these 8 legged critters have changed. To the point I now have one of my own (which I've become very fond of) but this one right here, I don't think I could handle seeing it running across my kitchen floor 😂. Thank you once again for all you valuable information even though this one will NEVER be apart of my household. You and Camera Lady are the best!!!!
Glad your enjoying your own spiders now ❤️
You are an amazing, inspiring and wonderful man that continues to educate and delight. Thank you for all that you share,
Wow, thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dave I love the videos where you say " We are in conpete control of the situation " and end up watching you chasing one around the room , or over you Dave , either ways entertaining an educational on how to stay calm when a spider is running around you. 😂😂😂 As always fabulous work Camera lady. Until next time 🥰 x
😂 as long as your not panicking your in control ❤️
@@daveslittlebeasties It's the word "panicking" that's comes to mind . I have 2 boys in their 20s and it's little old 5 foot 1, 60 year old mum that has to catch the tiny (in their words massive🙄) spider . Unknown to them I release it in another part of the house . Tiny dude is only looking for a girlfriend 🤣🤣🤣
I really appreciate the videos that you use to teach how to anticipate behavior. It reinforces the fact that all animals use positions and stances to telegraph intentions. Makes the hobby just that much more enjoyable and interesting..
Thank you 🙏
I cought a trochosa sp wolf spider (terricola) not the (ruricola) sp, dave camera lady ive had it a few months now, its feeding well a growing nicely mate😊
Women and spiders are both dangerous, beautiful and trouble 😂. Dave plays with teleporting spiders in his bare feet. That’s confidence for you!!! ❤❤
Being a "women", I resemble this! 😁😄
Aw come on Dave, move ur hand 😂 That big female is a stunner 🤩 Great update.
😁
Your self and camera ladies little chats and looks has me belly laughing. As allways a perfect demonstration on how it's done, even when 1 or 2 do a runner. It's good to see those baraplast being used arboreal seems a lot of the hobby had forgotten they can be used like that. ❤️ 💙
Cheers mate , watching closely your shed build so exciting ❤️
@daveslittlebeasties I'm excited and worried for it at the same time , it's coming along, carpet is down now bro
You two have such genuine banter, so nice to watch. Fantastic as always 👍
❤️❤️❤️
I take it those were not brazilian wandering spiders ? You know the most deadly spider around 😂
So you didn't watch the video?
As far as I know Dave does not hold a DWA licence, so no. Phoneutria is on the Dangerous wild animals list in the UK.
These are commonly known as bromeliad or banana spiders. Easy to mistake a Cupiennius for a Phoneutria if you don't know what you're looking for. In fact, for a long while these guys were lumped in with wandering spiders as a wider family before being split. They're completely harmless to people, unlike Phoneutria sp.
Dave your spider wrangling skills are amazing. I think you have spidey sense.
😂❤️❤️❤️
Ah brilliant Dave, very informative and enjoyable as always Dave, they're truly magnificent spiders 🕷, anyway Dave that's another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady Dave.
Thank you my friend 👍
Nice video, Dave! You know when you are putting the lid on therm in their housing IF they try to get out and accidentally (sort of) get squashed that one could be your contribution to humanity in terms of world hunger. It could be the very first spider to be eaten (in any way you would like) for scientific research. Recording the data would be mandatory, of course. Camera Lady should be present to capture any interesting photos, of course.
Nifty little movers them.
This was an amazing and very informative rehousing video for me. I have been raising two Cupiennius salei that are not quite the size of yours. I have had two re-housings so far and was quite nervous about them running off. They have both done well up to this point. I'll be studying this video a few times to watch the behavior of these larger ones. These are probably my favorite true spider!
They are truly awesome spiders to keep , good luck with your rehouses im sure you will have no problems ❤️👍
Excellent spider Ranger !! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you 🙏 ❤️
another great video on these spiders PROFF. as we expect so fine advice all through the video to help the hobby. CAMERA LADY another great video with amazing footage. many thanks guys and take care. PS can we get some more off your stories from your zoo days. 😂😂
Brilliant video guys beautiful spider thank you guys xxxx
